Grant Dinner

The Brother Peter Mannion Grant Dinner is held in May of each year and is the culmination of the efforts of the Grant Selection Committee. We receive approximately 200 applications each year from 45 high schools in Ocean and Monmouth Counties. Each application is reviewed by each member of the Grant Selection Committee. The Selection Committee then convenes and selects the 25 high school seniors to whom they are going to grant an award.

The Brother Peter Mannion Friendly Sons of the Jersey Shore Foundation Grants-in-Aid honor the late Brother Peter Mannion, the man who was the guiding light behind awarding over $700,000 in aid to local area high school graduates of Irish heritage.

The grant recipients and and family members are invited to our Annual Grant Dinner where we present $1,000 grants to winners for outstanding academic, extracurricular and charitable achievement. This Grant program is one of the chief objectives of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the Jersey Shore.
