2018 Friendly Sons of St. Patrick-Jersey Shore Golf Classic Set for August 6th
The Annual Friendly Sons Golf Classic is set for Manasquan River Golf Club on August 6, 2018 for the 11th consecutive year. Please join us for an annual event sure to sell out. A spectacular golf setting, great food, awards and a raffle for an Ireland Golf Trip highlight the day. Sponsorships are available and help contribute to our annual Grants Program for college bound high school seniors.
Last year, despite the rain date, the luck of the Irish again prevailed as the weather was spectacular, as it has been each year we’ve held this event at MRGC. The Robert White designed course lived up to its reputation of lightning fast greens, challenging, pristine conditions and a highly desirable venue.
There were 184 players, consisting of FSSP members, family and friends (including 17 MRGC members who paid full green fees to play their home course), many of whom traveled from throughout the country to participate; both the morning and afternoon tee times were filled to the limit (largest outside outing in MRGC’s history). Despite the enormous number of golfers, play was completed in under 4 ½ hours!
The Golf Classic day commenced with breakfast and morning golf, followed by lunch and afternoon tee times, followed by the cocktail hour on the rooftop River View Terrace with panoramic views of the Manasquan River, dinner & awards. GM & COO Mike Zusack, along with head PGA professional Chris Dymek & their staff treated the participants as though they were Club members.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of skill awards: Low Gross (Kevin Dwyer, Dave Berry, Kelly Mahon, Ron Marino), Low Net (including presentation of the Dwyer Cup) and Low Callaway (FSSP President Bob Flanagan, Bud & John Flanagan, Jack Doran); with the most anticipated selection of the winner of the $10,000 foursome Ireland Golf trip, won by Tom Mallon.
It is a great opportunity to enjoy the company of your family, friends, business colleagues and customers. Sponsorship opportunities are available!
